It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Harry Bissoon, who peacefully left us on August 2nd, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, passion and love.
Harry Bissoon will be dearly missed by his children Ken Bissoon and Teddy Bissoon (deceased) his grandchild Marina Bissoon and his cherished great grand child Kitana, his sibling the late Stephen Bissoon and a multitude of relatives and friends.
Born on the 25th of October 1945. Harry had a huge impact on the Caribbean community in Montreal. He was part-owner of Marvel travels; he was a dedicated employee at the Montreal General where he worked for many years. As the president of Paragon Sports club, Harry played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among members. His leadership extended beyond that, as he also served as the VP of the Trinidad and Tobago Association and VP of a promotions company which raised funds for charities across the city.
Known for his generous spirit, warm smile and humble beginnings, Harry Bissoon spent his life enriching the lives of those around him. He was a man of many talents and interests, particularly bowling and cricket. He will forever be remembered for his determination to make Montreal a place where the Caribbean community was heard and seen. He will forever be a pillar of strength for his family and a source of inspiration for his friends and colleagues.
May he rest in peace alongside his son, wife and brother. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on Sunday the 18th of August, from 10:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and then the reception 12:00 pm.
