It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurent Levis on May 7th, 2020, in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, at the age of 83.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Erika Levis (Promies) and his son Jean-Pierre (Kellie). He will be greatly missed by his grandsons Sean, Thomas, and Ryan, as well as many relatives and friends. He was more than a husband and father; he was an outstanding father-in-law and Opa.

Prior to working for the Montreal police Department, he stated in the RCMP and The CN police. He later joined the Montreal Police Department working downtown, then at the Police Academy and then Police Headquarters. During his career, he served the city of Montreal in many different capacities; he was a patrolman, an instructor, and a spokesperson for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. At the end of his career, he became an Inspector, an accomplishment he cherished for the rest of his life. Upon leaving the Police, he became Director of Security at Via Rail Canada and afterwards VP of Operations at Garda Security. But his most cherished accomplishment was always his family.

A Graveside Service for immediate family only will take place on Tuesday May 19th. It will be followed by the burial as he is laid to rest at Rideau Memorial Gardens, Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Montreal Institute for the Blind or the Canadian Celiac Association in his memory.
