It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our mother, Mabel Ann Fitzgerald (nee Denis) on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Montreal General Hospital at the age of 91.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Patrick. Devoted mother of twin daughters, Sharon Clark (the late John) and Patricia Droulis (Stan). Treasured by her grandchildren, Erin Moseley (Jeff) and Matt McIver (Katie).

She especially loved her role as Nanaroonie, to her great grandchildren, Cooper, Blake, Emerson, Darcy and Hunter.

Mabel was blessed and forever grateful for her close friendship of 85 years with Margaret Martin. She will be dearly missed by her cousin, Joan Campbell (“Maizie”). They journeyed through life together side by side, heart to heart. Mabel was deeply committed to community service and dedicated many years to charitable endeavors. She was extremely proud of her involvement and positions held within the United Irish Societies, St. Patrick’s Society and Erin Sports Association where she made many lifelong friendships that she truly cherished.

Mabel spent the last 10 years living at Maywood Residence in Pointe-Claire, where she made many special friends and memories. We wish to sincerely thank the Internal Medicine staff of the Montreal General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.

Her faith in God was ever present and guided her through each day.

“The sun has set on an amazing life. Our mother asked for so little but gave so very much”… “And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand”.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 11:00am-12:30pm immediately followed by a chapel service at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard des Ormeaux.
