Peter Burman
February 22, 1945 - May 23, 2013
Peter Burman
1945-2013
In the arms of his loving family, Peter passed away May 23rd, 2013. Best friend and soulmate to his wife Linda for 44 years. Treasured father of Trevor (Dawn de la Paz) and Alana Mackrell (Paul), Whitby Ontario. Grandfather extraordinaire to Kiahna & Sierra (Burman), Calum, Ronan & Aidan (Mackrell). Son of the late George & Clare Burman (Walsh). Cherished brother of Mark (late), Terry (Micheline), Pat (Teresa), Tony (Jane) & Richard (Belva). Also mourning his passing are Linda’s sister & brother-in-law, Diane & John Sauvé (whose support has been invaluable), as well as many beloved nieces & nephews.
As a husband, Peter gave and received limitless & enduring love. As an educator for over 45 yrs. in both Chomedey & Rosemere High Schools, he nurtured intellectual curiosity & had such fun doing it. With the discovery of a brain tumour, his first concern was to make it as easy as possible for his family; he did just that. Our thanks to the exceptional friends who contributed so much to Peter’s happiness -Liz & Gordon Aucoin, Ray & Cynthia de la Paz , Ray & Diana Bailey and Margaret Mackrell. Special thanks to Dr. P. Kavan, Dr. J. Golan & Dr. T. Muanza -J.G.H. oncology dept. for their skill & compassion. Heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the West Island Palliative Care Centre. This facility can only be described as excellent!
A fun-loving, curious, eccentric, warm-hearted man with a strong rebellious streak leaves us with a legacy of love and a million & one “Peter” stories.
Visitation to take place at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, 11am Monday, June 3rd, 2013. Service at noon, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peter’s memory to the West Island Palliative Care Center, Kirkland, QC.
