<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Raymond D. <br>Guay, known to many as RD. He passed away on May 6th, 2024 at the age of <br>94. He was married to the love of his life Therese (Terry) Vaillancourt (Dec 2003) <br>for 48 years. They raised three children, Jacques, Mike (Janet Puchinger), Lisa <br>(Bernie Marcotte). He was a very proud grandfather to Tara (Peter Musial), <br>Breanne (Mark Nielsen), Philip, Olivia and Rudy, and greatgrandfather <br>To Brooklyn, Mila, (born to Tara and Peter) and, Alexander and Chloe (born to <br>Breanne and Mark). Born on Jan 3rd, 1930, in Quebec City, he was the 8th of 13 children, who have predeceased him with the exception of his beloved younger brother Francois (Frank). <br> <br>He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. RD and Terry married in 1955 in Lac Mégantic QC. and cherished every moment together. He was charmed by her joie de vivre, her smile, personality and willingness to accompany him on all of his adventures. RD adored her family, his inlaws Josephine (nee Poulin) and HenriLouis Vaillancourt, his brothersinlaw and their wives, JeanMarie (Gisele), Raymond (Jeannine), Jacques (Doris) and Gilles. RD regaled at the events in Lac Mégantic that brought the whole family together a few times a year. Later in life he was fortunate to find companionship with Nicole Guay (nee Thibert) (dec. December 2018) with whom he shared much travel and many happy years. <br> <br>His passion for the outdoors was undeniable. He enjoyed skiing and sailing and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nature to its utmost at his beloved camp at Lac Geoffrion. He would venture there as often as possible for many decades to enjoy fishing and hunting with his brothers and numerous close friends. Through dedication and perseverance, blessed with an influential sociability, RD achieved ever increasing responsibilities in several managerial positions over a 30+ year career at General Motors. <br> <br>Retiring at the age of 57, he was able to enjoy his life to the fullest. He had a great run. He will be dearly missed. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
