<div itemprop="description">Stella Gertrude Nelson, born May 15, 1923 in Trinidad and Tobago, passed away peacefully in Lachine, Quebec, on November 6, 2024, at the remarkable age of 101. <br> <br>A devoted mother to her beloved daughters, Shirley (Dennis) and Jean, Stella also took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Marion (Roy), Shawn, Curtis, and Stephan, and adored her great-grandchildren Annasha, Jelani, and Rashaun. Her family was blessed to see her legacy extend to her great-great-grandchild, Corann, who brought much joy to Stella in her later years. She will also be deeply missed by her dear friend Arlene. Stella was predeceased by her husband Sandor Alex Fleischer. <br> <br>Stella was a fiercely independent woman who lived life on her own terms, inspiring her family, friends, and all who knew her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Beyond her family, Stella touched the lives of countless children she lovingly babysat over several decades. Known for her warmth, kindness, and a knack for nurturing young spirits, she became a cherished figure to many families, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for years to come. As her soul now soars up in Heaven, her family is comforted in knowing that Stella lives on through each generation she touched. <br> <br>Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home in D.D.O. (QC) on November 16, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, honouring Stella’s life and supporting a cause close to her family’s heart. <br></div>
