It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Steven Andrew Firman on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the age of 58. Loving father of Megan (Adolfo Taveras), Kassandra and Niki. Former spouse and friend of Joanne Fafoutis. Predeceased by his parents, Beverley and George Firman. Survived by his sister Arlene (David Robertson) and nephews, Conner and Reid.

Born in Pincourt, Quebec, Steve grew up playing hockey in the winter, cheering for his beloved Habs and spending his summers at the YMCA swimming pool taking lessons, swimming competitively and eventually becoming a lifeguard. As an aviation enthusiast, he graduated from Canadore College with an Aircraft Maintenance diploma and joined Air Canada as a Turbine Engine Mechanic. He was very passionate about motorcycles, sailing on the open water, watching movies and making new friends everywhere he went. Steve loved discovering new restaurants, and those who know him well, know how much Steve loved food. His greatest love was spending time with his 3 daughters, and taking great pride in their successes. Steve left his family and friends far too soon.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Montreal Neurological Hospital where he was a patient for many years and the Mount Sinai Hospital palliative care unit for their kindness, compassion and care. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Steve, donations to the Montreal Neurological Institute or the Mount Sinai Hospital palliative care unit, are greatly appreciated.
